Understanding Aged Care Costs
Basic Daily Fee
All residents pay a basic daily fee covering living costs. This fee is set by the government at 85% of the single Age Pension.
Means-Tested Fee
Based on your income and assets. The government covers the rest of your care costs. Higher income/assets = higher fee.
Accommodation Payment
One-time payment (RAD) or daily payment (DAP) or combination. Amount depends on facility and your assets.
